How to Make a 4 Patch Baby Quilt
Sew an easy Four Patch Babe Quilt using my free four patch quilt block pattern! The four patch quilt block is a basic building cake in many quilt patterns, plus it makes a beautiful quilt all by itself.

After I wrote the instructions for an easy four patch quilt block, I realized that this block would make an adorable baby quilt that is:
- super fast
- totally easy
- perfect for beginner quilters

How to Sew together a Four Patch Infant Quilt
These instructions make 16 four-patch blocks. Finished quilt dimensions: 48'' x 48''. Finished cake size: 12" x 12". My 4-Patch Block Pattern is also available equally a gratuitous downloadable file. Get it hither.
You lot volition demand:
- i 1/iv yards background material (suggested: low-cal gray cloth)
- 5/8 1000 medium colored material (suggested: coral colored fabric)
- 5/8 yard dark colored fabric (suggested: deep coral fabric)
- three/eight yard binding material (suggested: navy bluish)
- ii 3/4 yards backing fabric, or plenty to slice together a 56" x 56" foursquare
- a 56" x 56" piece of quilt batting
- a rotary cutter, acrylic ruler, and mat

Cut:
- Light Grey material: cut 6 strips half dozen ane/2'' x width of material (40-42'')
- Coral fabric: cut 3 strips 6 one/2'' x width of fabric (40-42'')
- Deep Coral fabric: cutting three strips 6 ane/two'' x width of textile (40-42'')
- Binding fabric: cutting 5 strips ii 1/2" x width of material (twoscore-42'')
Sew 16 Four Patch Quilt Blocks:
Utilize a 1/iv'' seam allowance and a curt run up length such every bit one.5-ii.

Identify a light gray strip and a coral cloth strip right sides together. Sew forth one long edge. Open and printing the seam toward the coral cloth.
Make three strips sets of Combo #1.

Variation:
Use this aforementioned pattern to make a 58" square throw quilt! Just add ii" sashing in betwixt your blocks and a ii" border. You will need an additional 1 1/eight yards of fabric for the sashing and edge pieces.
